A longtime small business in the Central Valley is preparing to close its doors.
The Pickled Parlor, a popular deli at the Peacock Market in Clovis, announced in a social media post that it will permanently close its business on January 31, 2026, marking a decade in operation.
The business had operated at the corner of Peacock Market, the deli’s owner Nick mentioned in the Instagram post.
While the post did not disclose any specific reason for closing the business, Nick characterized the decision to close as “bittersweet.”
The eatery serves specialty sandwiches, fried pickles, breakfast bites, coffee, Italian sodas, and Thrifty ice cream.

“It was a vision of community, enhancing a shopping center that once was a staple and true landmark in Clovis,” The Pickled Parlor said in the post.
Nick thanked the ownership of Peacock Market for giving him the opportunity to build a business in the “historic corner.”
Stating that the shopping center still has potential, Nick hoped that the exit of The Pickled Parlor will pave the way for another small, locally-owned business.
“It’s been a rewarding venture, but 10 years in this crazy world of the food service industry is enough,” he said.
Over the past 10 years, The Pickled Parlor had expanded to four businesses across the counties of Tulare and Fresno and served communities of Visalia, Fresno, and Clovis.
The Visalia location will remain open, according to a news report by ABC30.
Reflecting on the journey of The Pickled Parlor over these past years, Nick said he made countless connections through personal and professional experiences.
Expressing support for fellow small businesses, he said he is currently seeking prospective offers to take over the space.
The Pickled Parlor created a Facebook event to mark its last day of operation and invited customers to visit for the last time and “share a meal while supplies last.”
Hinting at the potential closure of the business in another Instagram post earlier this month, Nick shared his experience of dealing with the complexities of running a small business.

Sharing images of the latest logo of The Pickled Parlor, Nick said this year marks “10 years of dealing with multiple rebranding, rebuilding, and sacrificing.”
“This will be my last logo, my last run, I have nothing else left to prove to myself or anyone else for that matter,” he wrote.
Inviting customers to enjoy the “final chapter,” Nick said he hoped to leave the place better than how he found it.
Nick, an Army veteran, first opened the eatery as a franchise in 2015 while he was still in the Army and launched “The Pickled Deli” after retiring in 2019, according to a Fox26 News report. The business was rebranded as “The Pickled Parlor” in 2023, the report added.
