In-N-Out Burger is set to open a new, huge location at an upcoming urban park in Irvine.
The new spot will be found at 7900 Great Park Boulevard.
The restaurant will feature a whopping 3,860-square-foot building and a 500-square-foot patio.
Additionally, for customers who do not want to dine in at the In-N-Out but still want lunch, the construction plan includes a drive-thru that will have a capacity of around 33 vehicles.
When drivers arrive, there will be two lanes available for them to pull into before the vehicles are directed to a single pick-up spot. Having two lanes available for cars to wait in rather than one will ideally lower congestion and better handle traffic.
About the New Park
Irvine’s $1 billion park project consists of turning a former military base into one of the largest urban parks in California.
The Orange County-based park will sit on 1,300 acres of land, with 12 of those acres being home to The Canopy.
The Canopy will feature restaurants (including In-N-Out), retail stores, entertainment hubs, and more.
“Designed for connection and convenience, The Canopy places everything you need within reach—whether it’s a morning coffee, an evening out, or a place to gather with friends,” a statement on The Canopy’s website reads.
Historically, the land where the district will sit dates back to 1864. That is when James Irvine Sr. and friends founded the 110,000-acre Irvine Ranch.
By the 20th century, the ranch was a top producer of lima beans and oranges for thousands of people until World War II.
But aside from The Canopy, if everything goes to plan, Irvine’s “Great Park” is set to also have lakes, museums, and even an outdoor amphitheater where musicians can bring their tours.
The park will be developed and opened in phases, with construction continuing throughout 2028 and 2029.
By the end of its construction, Irvine’s “Great Park” may potentially be bigger than New York’s classic Central Park.
