Geodis, the global logistics company, plans to eliminate more than 200 jobs at its California facility.

Geodis is laying off 238 employees at its San Bernardino County warehouse, according to a WARN notice to state authorities.

Under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN), employers in California are typically mandated to provide a minimum of 60 days’ notice ahead of mass layoffs, plant closures, or significant relocations. This gives employees and local agencies time to prepare, according to WARN.

In WARN notices, employers are also required to explain how they will support the employees who will be laid off. Employers are expected to mention whether they intend to work with their local workforce board, another organization, or not coordinate services.

According to the recent filings, Geodis issued its layoff notice on April 28, 2026, with the layoffs scheduled to begin on July 3. The filings also list May 5 as the date when the notice was processed.

The layoffs will impact only Geodis’s facility in Rialto, according to the filings. The warehouse is located at 1710 West Baseline Road.

It is not known how many employees currently work at the Rialto facility.

Meanwhile, a law firm has initiated an investigation to probe whether Geodis violated the WARN Act.

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a class action law firm, announced on May 7 that it is investigating Geodis’s notice announcing the mass layoff in Rialto. The investigation will examine whether the company failed to provide the mandatory 60-day notice before laying off the 238 employees.

According to Strauss Borrelli PLLC, employers who do not comply with the WARN Act, either by giving notice too late or by providing unclear information, may have to pay employees back pay and benefits for the time during which they violated the rules.

The law firm encouraged Geodis employees to reach out to them in case they were laid off from the Rialto warehouse and did not receive the 60-day notice or severance.
