Join Surfrider Foundation Santa Barbara Chapter on February 21, 2019, 7 PM at the Watershed Resource Center at Hendry's Beach for our first General Meeting and Mixer of the new year. Our guest speaker is the distinguished professor Gretchen Hofmann from our own UCSB Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Biology. She has served on numerous scientific advisory panels and has studied many aspects of our ocean's ecology. She will be talking about the recent decline in California’s kelp forests and related matters. This will be a really fascinating talk.

Surfrider, S.B. Chapter, holds its general meeting, with special guest Dave Hubbard to discuss the future of beaches and natural solutions to coastal restoration, with emphasis on sea level rise. As always there will be pizza and light refreshments. All Surfrider members will also get to vote on the new Executive Committee members. Free to all and the public is welcome.
Join Surfrider at the Watershed Resource Center at Hendry's Beach for an extremely fascinating and quite timely presentation by well known environmental activist and attorney Mark Massara about the Martin's Beach access issue and its implications for the Coastal Act and the coastal Commission.
