    Photo Sculptures by Salvatore Matteo

Silo118 is pleased to present an exhibition of Salvatore Matteo's photo sculptures at Synergy One Lending in Montecito. This Los Angeles-based artist (originally from Brooklyn) starts with a photographic image he finds compelling, then cuts portions of it into evocative patterns and lifts them away from the surface. The result is a three dimensional piece more in sync with the world of dreams and memories than the flat surfaces of a photograph.

This exhibition is open to the public weekdays 9am-5pm. Located at 1250 Coast Village Road in Montecito.

Art Exhibition: Metagraphs by Sol Hill

Though they are created using a digital camera, Santa Barbara artist Sol Hill's Metagraphs are not exactly photographs. He uses the camera to capture "digital noise" - false exposure that comes from the recording of energies other than visible light. The resulting works show the visual "fingerprint" of these unseen energies.

Though they are created with a digital camera, Santa Barbara artist Sol Hill's Metagraphs are not exactly photographs. He uses the camera to record "digital noise" - false exposure caused by energies other than visible light. The resulting images are a visual manifestation of these unseen energies around us.

Silo118 is pleased to be working with Synergy One Lending for this exhibition of Metagraphs. Visitors are encouraged to stop by and view the show during business hours: weekdays 9am - 5pm.

Artist Reception: RIVER by Michael C. Armour

Please join us for an artist reception as part of the Funk Zone Art Walk. RIVER is a solo show by Michael C. Armour, featuring oil paintings and works on paper.

This is what he says about his process: “Art is mysterious to me. I am rarely able to remember the process of making it and I feel very little authorship of it. I can tell if I like it or do not, and can say why, but I cannot tell how it is mine, or of me."

Show runs through March 14. Regular gallery hours are Thursday-Sunday 12-5.
