Today, the Sta. Rita Hills AVA is renown around the world as one of the top regions for pinot noir. It might never have been without Richard Sanford who saw the potential for the varietal here and planted the first vineyard with then-partner Michael Benedict. He is the ONLY Santa Barbara vintner—and one of just 44 winemakers world-wide—to be inducted into the Vintners Hall of Fame. He's one of the shining stars of Santa Barbara County winemaking and has been making some of the most highly-regarded pinot for almost 50 years.
Randall Grahm is an internationally-known winemaker who has been featured in all the major wine publications and received numerous awards including being inducted into the Culinary Institute of America's Vintner’s Hall of Fame, Who’s Who of Cooking in America by Cook’s magazine, named Wine and Spirits Professional of the Year by the James Beard Foundation in 1994 and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Rhône Rangers. He was on the cover of Wine Spectator in 1989 as the first "Rhône Ranger" and is the only winemaker to have an asteroid named after him.

Winemaker Karen Steinwach has an impressive resume that spans from her start working for Foley Estates and Fiddlehead Cellars through her ongoing crafting of wines for Buttonwood Farm Winery & Vineyard, to her work as Director and Chairperson Emeritus of the World of Pinot Noir to winemaking for her own Seagrape Wine Co.
Vino magazine calls winemaker Mike Sinor a "rock star" in recognition of the huge scores his wines have garnered, including the 96 point score Wine Spectator awarded the Chamisal Vineyards Califa Pinot Noir he made for Domain Alfred, the highest score ever for a Central Coast Pinot. He's continued winning accolades at Ancient Peaks in Santa Margarita and was named "Winemaker of the Year" in 2012.

One night a year, top chefs team up to create the spectacular Reaching for Stars 5-course dinner to benefit local at-risk and homeless teens. This year, on Thursday, April 26th , 6:30 pm at the Santa Barbara Women’s Club, the program will be enhanced with premium wines from Brander, Alma Rosa, Babcock, Flying Goat Cellars, Buscador, and Lumen specifically paired to the culinary creations.
