"MUSIC FOR BRASS FROM UCSB"
The Santa Barbara Music Club continues its 2022-2023 season of beautiful classical music on Saturday, April 15 3 PM, at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu. Admission is free.

Steven Gross, French horn, Pascal Salomon, piano, plus the Maurice Faulkner Brass Trio, Horn Ensemble, trumpet, and trombone, will present a concert featuring delightful works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Reinhold Glière, James Naigus, Václav Nelhybel, Francis Poulenc, Camille Saint-Saëns, Robert Schumann, and Lowell Shaw.

"MUSIC SPARKLING AND PROFOUND"
The Santa Barbara Music Club continues its 2022-2023 season of beautiful classical music on Saturday, February 11, 3 PM, at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu. Admission is free.

Violinist Nicole McKenzie, clarinetist David Singer, and pianist Betty Oberacker will present a concert featuring exquisite works by composers from the Baroque, Romantic, Impressionist, and contemporary musical periods.

"THE LAST THREE SONATAS OF BEETHOVEN"
The Santa Barbara Music Club continues its 2022-2023 season of beautiful classical music on Saturday, December 17, 3 PM, at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu. Admission is free.

Renowned pianist Paul Berkowitz will interpret the final three Piano Sonatas of Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonata in E major, Op. 109 (1821), Sonata in A-flat major, Op. 110 (1822), and Sonata in C minor, Op. 111 (1823).

The Santa Barbara Music Club opens its 2022-2023 season of beautiful classical music on Saturday, October 22, 3 PM, at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu. Award-winning organist and composer Tom Mueller will perform a concert including beloved masterworks as well as captivating newer works: Johann Sebastian Bach's splendid Prelude and Fugue in D Major, BWV 532, David Conte's imaginative Pastorale, Percy Whitlock's radiant Scherzetto, and Cesar Franck's magnificent Chorale No. 1 in E major.

For several decades, the Santa Barbara Music Club Scholarships have provided support to deserving instrumental and vocal music students from Santa Barbara County. The scholarships are made possible by the generosity of our donors who wish to provide aid and encouragement to outstanding music students from local schools and teaching studios that show promise of becoming our future soloists, orchestral musicians, opera singers, and other music professionals.

The Santa Barbara Music Club presents a program of beautiful classical music performed by renowned artists on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu. Andrea and Neil Di Maggio will perform a splendid variety of music for flute and piano: the concert opens with two highly contrasting works by French composers: the elegant Sonata in E minor, Op. 58, No. 5 by Françoise Devienne and the sparkling Sonatine by Pierre Sancan.

The Santa Barbara Music Club presents another program of beautiful classical music on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at First United Methodist Church, 305 E. Anapamu at Garden Street. The program features oboist Adelle Rodkey and pianist Eric Valinsky performing Four Personalities by Alyssa Morris, Maurice Ravel’s Valses nobles et sentimentales, Paul Hindemith’s Sonata for English Horn and Piano, and Pierre de Bréville’s Sonatine.

Dear Music Club Concert Goers:

We had great plans for our 50th Anniversary season. Our performing members outdid themselves in submitting proposals for challenging and unusual works, including many by the excellent living composers in our community. Our Concert Committee did a stellar job of curating the programs. By all indications, this was to be our best season yet.

On Saturday, March 7 at 3 p.m. the Santa Barbara Music Club will present another program in its popular series of concerts of beautiful Classical music. Pianist Paolo Tatafiore highlights the reaches of piano technique and expression with Après une lecture de Dante: Fantasia quasi sonata, affectionately known as the “Dante Sonata” by Franz Liszt, as well as selections of Rachmaninoff’s preludes. This concert, co-sponsored by the Santa Barbara Public Library, will be held at the Faulkner Gallery of the library, 40 East Anapamu, Santa Barbara. Admission is free.
