Celebrate Public Works Week!
Celebrate National Public Works Week (May 21 – 27) with staff from the City of Goleta’s Public Works department! Join us for a free interactive community event. It’s a great opportunity to meet our stellar Public Works team and partner agencies, ask questions and learn about the many upcoming projects in the works. There will be interactive activities, equipment show-and-tell, information tables, giveaways and more.

Mark your calendars for an important night for the City. The 6th Annual Goleta Community State of the City is on Monday, April 10, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge (150 N. Kellogg Avenue). This is a must-attend, free community event with simultaneous Spanish interpretation and light refreshments offered. It’s a great opportunity to learn about the City’s recent accomplishments and what the future holds. Come see first-hand why the City of Goleta is a great place to Live, Work and Play, the theme of this year’s State of the City.

Goleta Valley Library 50th Anniversary
This March we are celebrating a special milestone for the Goleta Valley Library, the 50th Anniversary of the building at 500 N. Fairview Avenue. Join us on Saturday, March 11 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. for an afternoon of sharing memories with library staff and community members. In preparation for this event, we are gathering photos of the library throughout the years. Please bring your photos of the library to the Goleta Valley Library from now through February 28th so that we may add copies of them to our archives and share them as part of this memorable occasion.
Coffee & Community - Cafe y Comunidad
We hope you can participate in the City of Goleta’s first Coffee and Community event this Saturday, January 21st from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Nectarine Park (Nectarine Ave. & Mandarin Dr.) in Old Town. This is a bilingual event with Spanish interpretation provided along with coffee and pastries.
Bring the family and invite your friends and join Mayor Paula Perotte, 2nd District City Councilmember James Kyriaco, City Manager Robert Nisbet and other Goleta staff members for coffee and conversation.

Join us for "Senior Happy Hour"!
Craft and socialize at the Goleta Valley Library on the first Thursday of the month from 2-3:30pm.

Semi-Annual Live Poetry Series - Goleta Valley Library
The Goleta Valley Library invites local poets to join the featured readers at our first semi-annual Live Poetry Series, hosted by former Santa Barbara Poet Laureate David Starkey. Our first reading will feature former Santa Barbara Poet Laureate Chryss Yost and local poet George Yatchisin, along with two other local poets, one of each selected from submissions to the Under Eighteen and Over Eighteen categories.
Stuffed Animal Sleepover: Harry Potter Edition
The Stuffed Animal Sleepover is back by popular demand, just in time for Halloween! Drop off your favorite stuffie at Goleta Valley Library’s Platform 9 ¾ on Friday, October 28th between 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. for an overnight adventure of Harry Potter-themed wizarding adventures. When you pick them up the next day on Saturday, October 29th between 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., you will receive an enchanting goody bag and keepsake photos of their magical visit to Hogwarts! Goleta's Dam Dinner
Goleta’s Dam Dinner is a free community event bringing together friends and neighbors. Tables and chairs are set-up by the dam with breathtaking views of Lake Los Carneros and the mountains. Bring your own picnic and beverages or purchase Dam Pupusas, Dam Tamales, and/or Dam Tacos from Elubia’s Kitchen. Water will be provided but alcohol will not be sold as in years past. This special event includes live music from local bluegrass group the Salt Martians who are no strangers to the Dam Dinner.
Goleta Valley Library Writers' Monthly Workshop
Monthly gathering for writers with all levels of experience to share work, exchange feedback and discuss the tools of the trade. This month's discussion topic: "When Words Collide: Saying Everything with (Almost) Nothing"
