    Diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI). The nonprofit sector often uses these terms as we strive to transform our organizations to be more representative of the communities we serve. And yet many staff members, leaders, and board members are uncertain about the steps to move our intentions into action and change. Making progress toward an inclusive environment requires time, resources, courage, and a deep commitment to, transparency, and honesty.

    Partnership for Excellence 2020

    The Foundation Roundtable proudly presents Partnership for Excellence 20120 to be held Wednesday, April 22, 2020. This day-along gathering intends to disengage our region’s nonprofit sector from day-to-day routines and traditional conference settings, instead encouraging attendees to slow down and focus on rediscovering their inspiration with elements of nature, play, and collaboration.
    This year’s convening will offer complimentary transportation from downtown Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and Lompoc.

    Favianna Rodriguez Hosts ‘Art as Activism’ Presentation and Workshop

    Global lecturer, renowned artist, and cultural organizer Favianna Rodriguez will join Better World Series for its final wave, Art as Activism. Ms. Rodriguez will begin the night with a lecture entitled ‘The Intersection of Art and Social Change for People and Planet’ exploring intersectional topics as they relate to activism. She will then lead the audience in a workshop focusing on ‘old world’ symbols that have represented division and destruction and the need for new symbols that stand for love, acceptance, and inclusion in an era of global unrest.

    Wilderness Youth Project Presents The Moon Dance

    Wilderness Youth Project invites you to join us on Saturday, November 4th, a marvelous night for a moon dance, to support and celebrate our Bridge to Nature Campaign. The Moon Dance will take place at Imagine Park on Cathedral Oaks Road and will include live music with a contra dance caller, cocktails, wood fired pizza and appetizers. This evening will be the keystone of our Bridge to Nature Campaign, which will bring Wilderness Youth Project into the school day for the students with the greatest needs in our community.
