    Following last year’s momentous 30th Anniversary celebrations, the Santa Barbara Women’s Political Committee (SBWPC) brings back “Cosmopolitics.” One of SBWPC’s most popular events. Cosmopolitics is a popular evening event of cocktails, friendship, and feminist political talk. Keynote Speaker CA Assembly Member Wendy Carrillo is a former journalist elected in 2017 to represent the 51st District (East Los Angeles), and just one of the evening’s highlights. Carrillo came to the US from El Salvador as a child, and became politically active by the time she was in high school.

    Little Stones Screening-Award Winning Documentary Film

    From a graffiti artist speaking out against domestic violence in the favelas of Brazil to a dancer rehabilitating sex-trafficking survivors in India, Little Stones profiles four women, each of whom are contributing a stone to the mosaic of the women’s movement through their art. The film and accompanying education initiative have been designed to raise awareness about global women’s rights issues, and to celebrate creative, entrepreneurial, and arts-therapy based solutions to the most pressing challenges facing women globally.
