Family-to-Family is a free, eight-session education program for family members of adults living with a mental health disorder and is designed to help family members understand and support their loved one while maintaining their own well-being.

The class will also cover information on illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression and other mental health conditions and is taught by trained teachers who are also family members that know what it is like to have a loved one struggling with a mental health disorder.

Compassionate Care of Carpinteria’s The Light Shines Ahead 4th Annual Luncheon will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Rincon Beach Club (3895 Santa Claus Lane, Carpinteria, CA).

The event will feature event emcees, Win and Ed Van Wingerden, event chair, Marybeth Carty and special guest speaker, Virginia Benson Wigle. This event will raise critical funds to support people who are struggling with grief and illness in the community of Carpinteria.

Set in the summer of 1963, an innocent teen vacationing with her upper-middle-class parents at an upscale resort in the Catskills gets a jolt of culture shock when she crushes on the hotel’s slick, handsome dance instructor. Starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, the film’s stirring soundtrack yielded the Oscar-winning Best Song “(I’ve Had the) Time of My Life.” (Emile Ardolino, 1987, PG-13, 97 min.)

United Way of Santa Barbara County is proud to present the 25th annual Red Feather Ball. This fall, invited guests and friends will be taking A Voyage to Marrakesh, enjoying the sights and sounds of the Moroccan city from the comfort of our own backyard. Guests are invited to join United Way for an evening of celebration; looking back at a successful year of community-building and forward to brighter futures for the students and families that we serve. The event will include a seated dinner and program, followed by music and dancing.
