Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association and LinkedIn® Present: “ARE YOU READY?” - Free Career Workshop for Pacifica Students, Alumni and the Public January 16, 2020
Pacifica students, alumni, and community members curious about how to launch themselves into a new field or role now have an opportunity to explore their next career steps with the help of LinkedIn, “the world's largest professional network with nearly 660+ million users in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.” On Thursday, January 16, 2020, Pacifica Graduate Institute Alumni Association (PGIAA) and LinkedIn will team up to present “ARE YOU READY?” a free career workshop for Pacifica students, alumni, and the public. Taking place from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Dance the night away with Veterans and active duty military members at the Military Ball. It is a formal event where attendees can connect and celebrate during a lively evening complete with honoring women in the military and the Generations of Service Award recipients. Join us for an evening of live music, cocktail hour, silent auction, gourmet three-course dinner and dancing.
A free, star-spangled event you won’t soon forget. The parade will feature WWII vehicles and re-enactors, and heroes from all branches of the military. Show your support for our veterans and watch the parade as it makes its way down State Street. For organizations that wish to join the parade, please visit www.pcvf.org and fill out the simple application. Participation is free!
The Santa Barbara Veterans Foundation will host an afternoon complete with BBQ, live music, and military vehicles on display. Be sure to watch for the flyover of vintage airplanes in the sky above the event venue at approximately 1:30 pm!
Entry fee will be $20 covers entrance, meal, and a drink. Veterans and children under 12 are free. Contact Jerry Farmer at (805) 350-2006 for more information.

Veterans, active-duty military members, and guests are invited to enjoy a memorable night of live music and dancing, dinner, and tributes to those who have selflessly served our country. This year we will be honoring women in the Military.
The Military Ball is a formal evening where veterans, active-duty military members, and other community members can mingle over a cocktail hour, gourmet three-course dinner, and dancing. Guests will also have a chance to bid on extraordinary historic artifacts among other items in a silent auction before the program begins.
Hospice of Santa Barbara (HSB) will honor the special volunteers and supporters who make its mission possible during the Seventh Annual Heroes of Hospice luncheon Sept. 11 at the Biltmore’s Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club.

The Mental Health Arts Festival is an important and much anticipated event by artists living with mental illness and the Santa Barbara community at large. This free community event will feature the talent of approximately 70 local artists who will exhibit paintings, drawings, sculpture, jewelry, arts and crafts and much more!
Gather your friends and family for the free 4th of July concert at 5 p.m. in the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Garden. Presented by the West Coast Symphony Orchestra, the special event will feature pieces from Composer Peter Boyer's Ellis Island: The Dream of America, the world premiere preview of David Stern’s finale to his “Neo Romantic Violin Concerto,” and other patriotic favorites.

Local organizations will come together to celebrate Independence Day during the 56th annual Fourth of July Parade, presented by Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation. The parade begins at 1 p.m. at Micheltorena and State streets and travels down State to Cota Street.

United Way of Santa Barbara County honored the commitment of its planned giving society May 29 during the 34th annual Heritage Club gathering.
Roll up your sleeves and join an expected 1,000 volunteers during United Way of Santa Barbara County’s (UWSBC) 28th Annual Day of Caring. Teams and individuals from all walks of life will come together for the largest single-day volunteer event in the Tri-Counties to carry out a variety of service projects throughout Santa Barbara, Carpinteria and Goleta.
Former world champion surfer Shaun Tomson will share his personal experiences coping with loss and will discuss the importance of hope and purpose during the grief process June 5th at “The Light Shines Ahead” luncheon, hosted by Compassionate Care of Carpinteria (CCC), an initiative of Hospice of Santa Barbara.
Fratelli, A Men’s Chorus, Santa Barbara’s chorus of gay men and their allies, will present its highly-anticipated Spring Concert "Why We Sing!" Friday, May 17 at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Santa Barbara.
Fratelli’s Spring Concert, the culmination of their seventh season, is centered around brotherhood, friendship, and belonging. Members of the group, gay and straight, span five generations and include parents, grandparents, professionals and students.
This Memorial Day, join the Pierre Claeyssens Veterans Foundation (PCVF) at the Santa Barbara Cemetery as we remember those who gave the greatest sacrifice for our country. The ceremony will include a patriotic program featuring the Santa Barbara Choral Society, bagpipers, and special guest appearance by Sgt. Major John L. Canley, USMC, ret., most recent recipient of the Medal of Honor.
