Coal Oil Point Reserve is hosting the next training for Snowy Plover Docent volunteers on Wednesday, April 10th at 5:00 pm. Coal Oil Point Reserve is the first place to restore a nesting site that had previously been abandoned by the threatened Western Snowy Plover species. Our docents play a HUGE role in this success by educating the public about Snowy Plovers and ensuring that the protected areas are free from trespassing and off-leash dogs. Time commitment for volunteers is 2 hours per week and scheduling is flexible.

Coal Oil Point Reserve is hosting the next training for Snowy Plover Docent volunteers on Tuesday, February 5th at 5:00 pm.

Coal Oil Point Reserve is the first place to restore a nesting site that had previously been abandoned by the threatened Western Snowy Plover species. Our docents play a HUGE role in this success by educating the public about Snowy Plovers and ensuring that the protected areas are free from trespassing and off-leash dogs.

Time commitment for volunteers is 2 hours per week and scheduling is flexible.

Coal Oil Point Reserve encompasses 170 acres of protected California coastal habitat. Join us for a beautiful walk along reserve trails to explore the wildlife that is only minutes from UCSB. At this time of year, the Devereux Slough is full of water and the birding is fantastic!

Tours are approximately 2 hours long and guides will discuss both the cultural and natural history of the reserve. RSVP is required.

Feel free to drop in on May 5th anytime between 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. We look forward to sharing our new Nature Center with you!

*A suggested donation of $10 per person is appreciated to support our outreach program. Donations can be made in person via cash/check or online at our giving site.
