    SB TIMELINE MOSAIC WORKSHOP

    Celebrating “Santa Barbara Firsts” is the theme of this unique community public art piece. And, this workshop is the FIRST of many free, hands-on workshops where the community can get involved and learn this ancient art. Come help make a mosaic detailing 150 Million Years of Local History in 50 Feet of Mosaic. Award-winning mosaic artist Betsy Gallery, lead artist, along with Robin Elander and others will start the bilingual workshop at 2:30 pm. Completed Timeline Mosaic will be installed in a prominent public location in the next two years.

    Consisting of distinctive platinum and silver prints from these world-renowned photographers including: Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham and Rondal Partridge. The show highlights the impact these photographers had on a generation of artists and the photographic medium itself.

This professional reading, focused on the rather short life of Tina Modotti, was adapted from a screenplay written by Claudia H. McGarry and her writing partner Patrick Read. Inspired by actual events, the play, MODOTTI AND WESTON, could be pulled from today's headlines; yet, took place more than a century ago. Then, the Communist vs. the Democratic way of life polarized the world.

You can meet the performers after the show on the Lobero front patio too. These are the only two public performances this year.
