LOBERO LIVE PRESENTS Marc Broussard
Marc Broussard is an artist with a unique gift of channeling the spirits of classic R&B, rock and soul into contemporary terms. This gift has been a matter of common knowledge since 2002, when Broussard released his debut album, Momentary Setback, which he recorded and released independently at age 20. It was no secret before then, going back to those lucky witnesses who heard him belt “Johnny B. Goode” onstage at age 5 while sitting in with his father’s band. Throughout his life, Broussard has been tapped as a talent to watch.

Monte Vista Elementary School Performance
Santa Barbara Vocal Jazz Foundation wraps up another 8-week residency at Monte Vista Elementary School with a professional performance on the Lobero stage. Up to 140 4th, 5th and 6th graders participate in this immersive program, delving into the history of jazz, the music that was made in America. Students learn the origins of jazz, are introduced to many of its innovators, and bring it all to life with a fun and informative performance for the whole family. SBL PRESENTS Damien Escobar
Once a self-proclaimed retired artist, Damien Escobar, is now back to being one of the world’s top violinist. He is hitting the road to promote his second solo album, Boundless, his first solo album of all originally produced material. Four years ago Damien was a shell of himself. Humbled by homelessness and depression, Damien had to fight through his fear of failure and reemerge as a confident, positive, thriving artist.

UCSB DHADKAN PRESENTS Nachle Deewane 2018 featuring PropheC
Nachle Deewane, an Indian dance competition hosted by UCSB Dhadkan, has become the largest, multicultural event held by a UCSB student organization and one of the largest ethnic celebrations in Santa Barbara over the last four years. The competition will feature ten collegiate dance teams — in two styles, Bollywood fusion and bhangra — from all over the country contesting for the top prize. In addition, the audience will be treated to a special performance by guest artist.

The Lobero Theatre Foundation is embarking on a new collaboration with the Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra and SBCO Board of Directors to continue the amazing work of the last 40 years. By pooling our resources and working with Maestro Ohyama, we are moving forward with a new program to provide great chamber music to our community on an annual basis.
Maestro Ohyama will lead an orchestra composed of many of SBCO’s talented musicians in a celebratory evening featuring the work of Tchaikovsky, Copland and Ibert.

Rock ‘n roll fan and music lover Hale Milgrim is back with the high-ly anticipated return of Quips & Clips! Hale (aka, the Trip Master) has mined his personal archives for rare concert footage and insider stories that celebrate 420, and–thanks to a little help from his friends–will lead a magical mystery tour of legendary artists from the 60’s to the present and share rarely heard rock ’n roll stories. While we cannot reveal who will be the subject of many of the clips you may (or may not) have seen before, don’t worry–you’re in for something completely different.
Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real and Tyler Childers
Since forming 10 years ago, the buzz surrounding Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real has been quietly intensifying. During that time, the 28-year old singer/songwriter/guitarist and his bandmates have played hundreds of shows and major festivals all over the world and built a devoted underground following. Lukas’ profile continued to rise when he contributed three songs and heavenly vocals to his dad Willie Nelson’s 2012 album, Heroes, their voices blending with potent DNA.

As a founder of alternative country pioneers Uncle Tupelo, a solo artist, and as the leader of Son Volt, Jay Farrar’s work often seeks out the ghosts of America’s discordant or forgotten past, converses at length with them, and writes songs that stake a claim to a better future. Most recently, Farrar has added the Son Volt album, Notes of Blue, to his long list of critically acclaimed albums.
Brian Culbertson Colors of Love
Brian Culbertson is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer known for his distinct brand of genre-crossing contemporary jazz, R&B and funk. Mining the urban sounds of musically-rich Chicago, he began his musical studies on piano at age eight and quickly picked up several other instruments by the time he was twelve, including drums, trombone, bass and euphonium.

Santa Barbara Youth Ensemble Theatre celebrates its twelfth season at the Lobero with an awe-inspiring production of “Les Miserables.” This Broadway-quality performance is the culmination of nine months of theatrical enrichment featuring approximately 40 actors ages 8-16.
