Opera Santa Barbara presents a free live preview of their upcoming production of Verdi's La Traviata. Soprano Anya Matanovich, tenor Nathan Granner, and Baritone Joel Balzun sing some of the best known tunes in opera accompanied by the 35-member Opera Santa Barbara Orchestra conducted by Kostis Protopapas.
Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata is one of the best known operas, and was featured in the 1990 Hollywood blockbuster "Pretty Woman." It tells the story of a real-life courtesan in mid-19th century Paris, and contains some of the most famous melodies in opera. It is presented for one performance only by Opera Santa Barbara, the city's only professional music theater company. Starring soprano Anya Matanovich and tenor Nathan Granner, and featuring the full OSB Chorus and 35-member orchestra conducted by Kostis Protopapas. More info at
Ancient Greek gods turn into martini-sipping flappers and dandies in this 90-minute adaptation of G. F. Handel’s SEMELE, set in the Roaring 20’s. Jana McIntyre stars in Opera Santa Barbara’s third production of the season, which will be sung in English and will be accompanied by a live orchestra.

Three generations of an immigrant family journey across borders and timelines to find one another and make a home together, in José "Pepe" Martinez's 75' mariachi opera "Cruzar la cara de la luna" ("To cross the face of the moon"). Starring Daniel Montenegro, Efrain Solis, and Mariachi Los Camperos. The program will start with Los Camperos performing a set of their greatest hits.
