    Foodbank of Santa Barbara County names Carol Olson as new vice chair

    Carol Olson, a California licensed professional fiduciary and chartered financial analyst at Quinn Fiduciary Services in Santa Barbara, has been named vice chair of the county's leading food relief organization.

    Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, a nonprofit that distributes 10 million pounds of food a year to needy residents through a network of more than 300 community partners, named Olson as its new vice chair. George L. Bean is assuming the title of board chair.

    Foodbank of Santa Barbara County Pilots High School “Food Creativity Lab” as Part of Expanding Education Programs

    The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is expanding its award-winning Children’s
    Health Initiative, a series of programs collectively called “Feed the Future,” with a brand new “Food
    Creativity Lab” (FCL) with a pilot beginning at Dos Pueblos High School on February 25.

    During four, free, monthly sessions, high school students will explore the nutritional and health value of
    a variety of foods, engage in hands-on cooking, learn to plan and budget for meals, and practice food
    photography.

    Fill the Foodbank! Drive-Thru Food Drive

    The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County is asking the community to donate non-perishable food items to provide healthy groceries to neighbors facing food insecurity this winter. Fill the Foodbank! on Saturday, February 8 is the second Drive-thru Food Drive. This time, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at BOTH Foodbank warehouses, community members may drop-off non-perishable food items. The Foodbank’s Santa Maria warehouse is located at 490 West Foster Road and the Santa Barbara warehouse is at 4554 Hollister.

Fill the Foodbank! is a first-ever Drive-thru Food Drive on Saturday, November 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Foodbank’s Santa Barbara warehouse at 4554 Hollister.

    21st Annual Santa Barbara Empty Bowls

    The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County will host its 21st Annual Santa Barbara Empty Bowls fundraiser on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the Ben Page Youth Center, 4540 Hollister Ave. Seatings are scheduled for 11 a.m., 12 noon, and 1 p.m. The annual event raises awareness about hunger and food insecurity throughout the community and raises funds to end hunger in Santa Barbara County.
