The third edition of the lecture series, “Fast & Curious: ED Talks from UC Santa Barbara’s Gevirtz School,” will take place on Monday, November 6 at 7 pm at the Faulkner Gallery at the Santa Barbara Public Library, 40 E. Anapamu St. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature five faculty members and one alumna from the Gevirtz School giving no more than an eight-minute talk each about their research or work that is shaping current education. A reception in the Faulkner Gallery will follow immediately after the presentations.

The 8th Annual Festival of Trees, sponsored by the Carpinteria Lions Club, will begin Friday, November 24, 2017. Our 16 day event has a new home. Thanks to the Carpinteria Arts Center who has opened its heart and door to allow the event to continue at the Art Center facility located at 855 Linden Ave. in Carpinteria.

Visitors of all ages are welcome to participate in this hands-on workshop with SBMA Teaching Artists on the Museum’s front steps. Each month, explore a different medium, including clay, metal, ink, wood, photography, and paper, and gain inspiration from works of art in theMuseum's permanent collection or special exhibitions.
In November, reimagine Valeska Soares' meticulously sculptured marble pillows by hand carving your own versions in beeswax.
Classical guitar master Pablo Sáinz Villegas, hailed by The New York Times for his “virtuosic playing characterized by irresistible exuberance,” will perform Joaquín Rodrigo’s sensuous Concierto de Aranjuez and Isaac Albéniz’s evocative Souvenirs of Spain with the Santa Barbara Symphony at 8 pm on Saturday, November 18, and at 3 pm on Sunday, November 19.

The Arts Fund is excited to announce the opening of Eyes of Another, curated by Rosemarie Gebhart and Marcello Ricci.
