Can anyone refer me to a dog sitter that could also stay at my house with
my 3 rescued pit mixes while I am on vacation? Needs to be someone that
only works part-time so can be with them most of the time. Experience with
pit mixes preferred.

Most affordable sitters will come in a spend a little time with your pets, feed them, walk them and leave. If you want someone to be more involved it had better be someone who knows you and your dogs or it may cost you as much as your vacation will.

There are a number of dog sitters that do this. Some do have full time jobs but will spend the night. The rates are usually around $40-95 a night. We use one in particular. What part of town do you live in as mine only works around Carpinteria?

Yeah, just check the Edhat classifieds! I actually know her and can say I'd hire her if I had the need but fortunately I have a roommate who can care for my cats when I am away.

OP Here, duration would be about a week, they are pits mixed with different percents of lab and boxer but most people would identify them as pit when they are out and about. We were lucky enough in the past to find a student who volunteered at the shelters that would housesit for $50/night but she has since moved away. I understand if it is a professional who is insured it might cost more. It is expensive but the only other alternative is to never go on vacation or only go on vacations where the dogs can also go.

Hi OP- I know of someone who absolutely adores dogs, has worked professionally with dogs of all breeds, and who loves gigs like this as last year her 14 year old dog passed and she isn't ready to get a new one. How do I get your info to pass on hers? If you post an ad on Craiglist under pets and put the word "edhat" somewhere in it, she can search it...

My daughter is coming to S.B. for 2 months from approx. Jan. 15 to mid-March. She wants to house-sit and she will take care of your dogs for very little. She is very responsible and has owned 2 bull terriers so she knows how to handle that variety of dogs.
