Location: Hollister Avenue, west of Arboleda Road

On September 11, 2012, at approximately 2045 hours, an auto vs. pedestrian traffic collision occurred on Hollister Avenue, just west of Arboleda Road, in the unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County.

The pedestrian made his may into the roadway, within the westbound traffic lane of Hollister Avenue. A motorist traveling westbound on Hollister Avenue, just west of Arboleda Road struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Officer Brown determined alcohol was not a factor in this collision as it relates to the motorist. This collision remains under investigation.

Fatal Victim information releasable through the coroner.

The California Highway Patrol says a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car in Goleta Tuesday night. (09/13/12)
