September 9, 2012 - Local Heroes
We've had quite a week, haven't we? Starting with the weather it's been a mixup of humid heat and muggy rain. Although the rain did make for some beautiful photos of sunsets, sunrises, and rainbows. Did you miss it? Check back through our past Edhat articles to view the variety of colors from our local professional and amateur photographers. I'm not sure about you but the Edhat Staff is ready for the cool fall to roll in.
Our photo of the day was taken by the Urban Hikers as they rushed to the scene of an emergency rescue off Stearn's Wharf. These two gentleman are truly local heroes as they jumped in to save a man who almost drowned. Kudos to wonderful community members who helped someone in need.
This week we've asked the Edhat Community to tell us what they love about Santa Barbara. It's clear that our little piece of paradise is a sought after destination for people all over the world, but what appeals to us locals? Is it the beautiful coastline or spacious mountain landscape, the small town charm or casual beach-going vibe? Share your thoughts in our Open Forum and give Santa Barbara some love.
We have a ton of great stuff for your viewing pleasure in our Sunday Edhat. Our Cat of the Week is Chaplin, the thirsty house cat. Our Dog of the Week is Red and he can definitely sit like a gentleman. Our non-profit of the week is the Santa Barbara Ski and Sports Club, they offer a variety of fun events and outings. The Urban Hikers took a short cut and shared their findings to help us navigate more quickly around town. Maybe we will run into one of them while we use their now not so secret paths as they cover Roger's Code Reds!
