Does anyone know where I can purchase fire resistant clothing in or near Santa Barbara? I know I can order
it online, but I need it tomorrow. Thanks!

Not sure if places like aramark or mission linen sell, but I know they rent fire "resistant" clothing to people like electricians/tradesmen. One big thing is no polyester.

With all the flaming going on around here you'd think there'd be an avalanche of leads from people who now commonly wear nomex when surfing online.

Are you plotting the next big fire and taking precautions in case your escape route gets cut off?The only people that need "fire proof clothing" is firefighters. You will die of smoke inhalation before burning to death.Let me guess you are a good Samaritan going to spend the week cutting back vegetation in the foothills and fire breaks.Or maybe if is a new trend, kind of like wearing Kevlar vests in the inner city to show you are so important assassins are out to get you.

I don't think you will find anything locally if you are looking for something like wildland firefighter gear, or something even more extreme I looked for a while. You might see if there is military surplus in Ventura county or Los Angeles I've bought mine out of a company in Colorado Wildland Warehouse if I recall right.

I own a couple old Nomex flight suits. They lose their fire resistance with repeated washings from what I understand, though I could be wrong... Army surplus.

Very hard to find on short notice, especially if you're a big guy/gal. Uniform Warehouse down in Saticoy is the best locally, with new and used clothing in most sizes. The Wharf in Ventura stocks a bit. Workrite in Oxnard if you have time and/or need to outfit a whole crew. Dickies, Carhartt and other brands online. Just throwing that out, never shopped here in SB. 961, many citizens of this county besides firefighters wear fire retardant clothing for work. We're just in an industry that this county is ashamed of yet enjoys much income from.

Sorry for the delay, just recieved this message. We manufacture Patented FR shirts and garments called the DUS-T which are made here in the United States. Next time let me know and we will take care of you as our garments provide better protection than any other garment on the market and we are based right here in Goleta. What did you need it for? Coming soon on the History Channel...DUS-T
