There was a smoke check there right after that this fire was reported smoke was seen dark grey smoke.

Suspect in custody admited lighting the fire transient Fire is out Fire Agencies will be there an hour mopping up.

Hey Roger - can you recommend a good entry level scanner? I have an analog one, and can't pick up too much. I guess everything is about digital? Also have the Android App for Police/Fire scanner. Would just like to listen when I'm working around the house and for emergencies and what not. Thanks for all of your work to Roger. I read your stuff daily for news. Best.

BearCat 100 Channel Desktop find it on Amazon digital not needed in Santa Barbara yet...Or handheld Radio Shacks the newer ones are not getting good reviews always good to insure them. The Bearcat is great around the house loud too..

We possibly have another vegetaian Fire near Storke just South of the overpass..CHP Reporting it..County Fire says it might be part of the first fire..

All Santa Barbaras and Goletans should be on high alert right now. Time is ripe for some "accidental" spark. I smelled woodsmoke in my yard yesterday (also out weeding!) and, man, I looked in every direction to see if I could spot the source. Still don't know what caused it, but it wasn't a fireplace fire----I can smell the difference. People were really silly during Jesusita fire----when I was leaving my driveway, vehicle packed to the hilt, pets in crates-----idiot neighbors were hanging out, looking up at the smoke. Soon enough, there was big traffic jam to get out of town. Tsk. NEVER think the fire won't move fast, especially at this time of year.

Personally I don't like my bearcat scanner. I like the radio shack because you can program the same channel into many different banks. For instance if you want to listen to County Fire Channel 1 under the bank you've named "fire" and listen to it if you've changed to the bank you've named "police" you can do so, but on my bearcat you can't.
