Did any one attend the Diana Krall concert at the Bowl on Sunday? If so. . . how would you review it?

I thought it was great. The moments of it seeming a little by the "seat of her pants" made it the most intimate concert experience I can recall. I know she can do super polished--- I've got the recordings. The glimpses of her family, her struggles with a cold, and her sense of humor about it all--seemed very genuine, and really, how often does an audience get offered a connection like that to a top flight artist? The Bowl at it's best as far as I'm concerned.

As a long time Diana Krall fan (fifth time seening her), I found this performance disappointing -begining with the long wait between the mediocre opening act and her start. Having her son on the stage before the performance and in the wings during, was a distraction to both her and her audience. I do understand that she had a cold, but it seemed much of the program was left to her back up band and their solos. All were excellent and special kudos to guitarist, Anthony Wilson, but I was there to see Diana Krall. Don't get me wrong, there was some terrific, straight ahead jazz and great music for the right audience and venue, but I have to but believe that a lot of the people in the audience were expecting to hear something, at least in the style, of what they may have been more familiar with and less of the improvisional stylings of her band. I would have loved to have heard more of her piano and distinctive voice on some her classic material.

313281 - this seems to the consensus of her latest tour. "To long and to many band solos". While wonderful performers, we are ultimately there to hear and see her. Wish we could've seen more from Ms. Krall.....after all I paid a fortune for this ticket!

My wife and I thought it was a wonderful evening. Not a fan of kids myself so the kid running out did not thrill me but Diana sure does. Opening act was very good as well.

Sorry, but I think she is THE most OVER RATED singer in show business. Flat line voice, not spark or personality and I just don't know how a person with such mediocrity becomes so famous. If she weren't good looking, and married to Elvis Costello, she would undoubtedly be singing in coffee houses for tips. I know hundreds of people who sing better than she does AND they write their own songs!!
