According to ATT. mobile internet service is down in large areas of
California, including Santa Barbara and surroundings. No time estimate on
when it will be fixed.

Verizon LTE seems to be out in Carp as well. 3G only all afternoon.

I think if you are in a "Verizon" or other service dominated area you will still get service. If you are in an ATT area then you will be affected by their outage.

I don't think "mobile internet service" is the same as calling and texting... I work in Old Town Goleta and had internet on my iPhone just fine. I too think a link should be given in these anonymous stories to help give them (and Edhat) credibility.
