Cox Woes

Anyone else having trouble with Cox cable? We are off of North Patterson and there has been no cable signal for 24 hrs. Cox phone and internet work fine. After 3 calls last night, Cox said they would be out to address the trouble this morning, but they didn't show. Does anyone have any troubleshooting advice, or ideas on how to get a rep out to fix things? Thanks!

Make sure to first reset the modem and then definitely reset the router if you have one (Once the modem is reset). Our power went out today and every time it does, I have to do those steps.

Do these steps by simply taking out the power cord from the back of each, waiting a few seconds and then plugging back in.

Not having any trouble where I am. Call them, they can tell you what's up and also they will give you a small credit for the time your cable has been off. Not huge, but a few bucks.

All Cox services were down this morning 8:45am off Turnpike @ Cathedral Oaks. They had services back up at around 10.

I have trouble with Cox too, but it has to do with their pricing structures and poor customer service. .

My internet and TV has not been interupted.

OP here. Day 3 with no cable signal. Cox was to come this morning between 8 and 10, but came before 8 while we were in shower and now has to "reschedule". And to all the snarky commenters, the TV service is appreciated by our 80 yr old parent who spends a lot of time at home. Bills are paid, cox phone and internet work fine, but yes, we are very unhappy with the service.

Call Cox and renegotiate your contract. There is a great article in Time magazine about the 12 things you should always dicker over. One of them is your cable service. There is even a "retention" department at these companies, ready to cut down on your bill, so as not to lose you as a customer.

Hooray for open market and competition.

tried all day yesterday to send a resume to someone with a cox.net email and it came back today "not deliverable--waited too long..." resent today and we'll see what happens
