Parking Lot Construction

Starting Wednesday August 22, Schipper Construction, the contractor for the Victoria Theater renovation, will begin work at Lot 5 to convert the existing Victoria Street Entry lane to an Exit lane. For approximately 2 weeks, there will be intermittent closures of the Victoria St entry lane until the exit lane work has been completed. Once the Victoria St entry has been converted to an exit, Schipper will then close the Lot 5 exit to Chapala Street in order to create the Lay-down area that will allow Schipper to begin demolition of the back side of the Victoria Theater. The Lay-down area will displace approximately 15 - 20 parking spaces, however, public parking and access to all businesses will be maintained at all times.

During the construction period, we encourage the Lot 5 merchants to schedule their deliveries in the early morning hours. And, to minimize congestion in the Lot, employees and other regular parkers should park in other City lots. Alternative parking information is available by calling the City's Downtown Parking Offices, (805) 564-5656 located at 1221 Anacapa St.
