1000 Steps Repair

Has anyone heard about any planned repairs to the "1000 steps" beach access off of Santa Cruz on the
Mesa?

The stairs are below groundwater hence always being wet/ slippery. I have seen a few people stack there over the years but usually because they weren't walking slowly. The city used to spray off the stairs and moss a few times a month. I hope they just leave it as is so it doesn't attract all this attention to the beach. It is a small space where locals can walk there dogs off leash and hang out without the crowds like Hendry's or Led's. Plus there is like five parking spots if you don't live within walking distance, I am sure the locals would love people parking in front of their houses all day and all these people crowding the peaceful setting. Thanks for putting 1000 Steps on the tourist map OP.

I just hope they keep the steps free of dog mess. Your off-leash dog area is a drag to navigate, especially because of the slippery moss.

Santa Cruz Boulevard, Mesa Lane... two different places which have stairs to the beach. I'm guessing 1000 steps will get busier when the work starts at Mesa Lane.
