Gas Station Demo
updated: Aug 17, 2012, 10:17 AM

I haven't seen this reported yet on Edhat, but the old gas station at Foothill and Hwy 154 is now completely demolished after about a week of work. There is more drilling work (looks like to my untrained eye) on the empty property, this time being done adjacent to the Foothill Vet office. Guess the owner is finally ramping up construction on the lot? This is the space bracketed by Hwy 154, Foothill, and Cieneguitas.

Past Gas ... Station: back in the olden days of nineteen-eighty-something, there was a Mobil Station right at the foot of the Pass, on the corner of Foothill Road and Highway 154. For a brief period in 1997, the gas station was converted into a hippie grocery store whose only marketing effort appeared to be giant flags with coffee mugs on them. Ed actually made his way through the weeds to try a cup of coffee there once. He remembers it with a grimace. (04/07/05)
