August 12, 2012 - Peanut Butter and Jelly

Political Correctness in Santa Barbara is common. It is like finding peanut butter in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. So it comes as no surprise that during the annual celebratory week in which our town confuses the countries of Spain and Mexico, the main topic of conversation has been how to properly react to a statement made by the CEO of a fast food chicken chain regarding gay marriage. A link on Edhat drew 90 comments!

While Ed and the Edhat management have no intention of throwing the Edhat dog into this fight, we are happy to provide a platform where this and issues like it, along with their relevance to the local community, can be discussed.

Edhat has evolved much throughout the years. That being said, we have also been reaching back to our past, back when we first started out, remembering the things that made our website so quirky and a fun place to hang out. We used to have a daily contest, which was fun, so we thought we'd give a weekly contest a try and see how it goes. To see what we mean you can check out the results of last week's contest of guessing the price of milk in town, and you can play this week's contest. Do you know where the picture was taken?

The Dog of the Week is Tessie, the birthday girl; the Cat of the Week is India, who is always dressed for a party; Nicole has the week off; David Powdrell found something interesting at the beach, and Edda tackles another sticky situation.

---- Edhat Stuff ----------------------------------

ASK EDDA: I recently sold a couch on Craigslist. A lot of people called about it, and a woman came over and paid me for the couch and said she would pick it up the next day. After a few days, I called her to see when she was going to pick it up.

PRICES: Did you guess the correct 1/2 gallon milk price? Click here to find out the winner and the legen-dairy results.

Time to play Sunday Wednesday Where Is It. Do you know where this picture was taken?

CAT OF THE WEEK: Meet India, he's always dressed for an occasion in his tuxedo.

DOG OF THE WEEK: Meet Tessie, the Birthday girl.
