What's the best place in Santa Barbara to watch the meteor shower tomorrow night?

Somewhere dark where's there's little to no light pollution. A drive to Santa Ynez and then just sit out on say, Armour Ranch Road, Happy Canyon Road or if you really have time, go to Los Olivos & then to the top of Figueroa. Have fun!

Show begins at dark, but mostly ads for popcorn and coming attractions for the first 25 minutes. I've heard that Sunday night may be the peak...peek?

One prediction puts the main peak of the shower at 5 AM PDT on Sunday, so Saturday night after 11 PM should be best, with Sunday night the next best. Meteor showers are always a little better after midnight, because then you are on the leading edge of the Earth in its orbit, and get more bugs on your windshield.

The water tower on E. Camino Cielo between Painted cave and Arroyo Burro Road. Climb on top of the tower a lay down, the rim of the tower blocks out most of the city lights and headlights from passing cars.

Pray for fog over SB. Then camino cielo rocks! Years ago i was up there and a cop showed up. Over the loud speaker he said: " popcorn, peanuts, popcorn, peanuts". Have fun and drive careful.

Saturday night, take your lounge chair, a cable release for your camera and enjoy. I like to just lay back in the lounge with cable in hand and watch the show. Long exposures come out great. I go to the same place I go for launches. Up on top of E. Camino Cielo. There are lots of people and always fun.

West Camino Cielo, Winchester Canyon Gun Club parking lot. Only members can get in. Yet another reason to belong to the gun club. If you aren't a shooter, park OFF the road and NOT blocking any gates and head towards Lizard's Mouth.

I caught a few AMAZING meteors on my way home from Buellton. I pulled over at Vista Point and opened my moon roof and listened to the waves. It was quiet (minus the few cars coming/going) and very relaxing.
