Meet Tessie

Happy Birthday to Tessie - the best dog ever! Though she seems half human/half dog, she's really half
Cocker Spaniel and half Golden Retriever. Just 6 years ago I flew all the way to South Dakota to get her. I
can still see her running alongside me on a leash through the airport, just nine weeks old, "grinning
happily" from ear to ear as she approached anyone in sight who took the time to glance her way. That was
a sign of things to come - she ADORES affection from people to this day.
Tessie loves burying her nose in holes to smell the squirrels and gophers, hunting for lizards along the
cliffs at Hendrys Beach, nuzzling our chickens in the backyard, treats of any kind (especially bananas),
tearing apart her stuffed toys to dig out the squeaker, and napping on our bed. At the mere sound of my
keys she races to the door, anxiously awaiting a ride in the car. I love her sweet, adoring, golden eyes
when the light shines on them, how she lies on the floor with her back legs straight out behind her, how
she constantly paws and nudges me for a little extra love, and how she runs and gets her toys and comes
to me, begging for a game of tug-of-war. She's a true companion and friend. She's my Tessie girl. Did I
mention she's the BEST dog ever?
