Highway 192 Re-opening

UPDATE: Hwy. 192 is now open at Westmont Road following repairs to a sinkhole that
resulted in a full closure at this location on July 25.
State Route 192 opened to traffic Friday afternoon, August 10.

HIGHWAY 192 EXPECTED TO RE-OPEN TOMORROW EVENING AFTER REPAIRS TO LARGE SINKHOLE
SANTA BARBARA - A large, 3-foot diameter sinkhole that shut down Highway 192 at Westmont Road on
July 25 is tentatively scheduled to open on Friday evening, Aug. 10 by 8 pm.
John Madonna Construction of San Luis Obispo was the prime contractor under an emergency contract
to replace a failed drainage culvert and rebuild this section of roadway.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction
zones.
