Auto Body Shop
updated: Jul 26, 2012, 11:55 AM

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, reliable auto body shop? Used to use Bianchi Motors, but he sold his business a few years back.

Airport Motors, 5950 Olney Road near the airport (oddly enough!) 681-7297. My family has taken all of our cars and trucks there for years. Highly recommended!

Kirk Benedetto is professional, honest, and a really nice guy. I just had work done day before yesterday; he performed the job quickly and the outcome is flawless.

I would not recommend Dino's... I have given him two jobs in the last couple years and both were less than satisfactoy. The last job was a simple gas tank for a motorcycle, and I could have done a better job with a spray can. Try Fermies A-1 auto body and ask for Mike. He painted my last motorcycle tank and did a GREAT job!

@638... he's looking for a bodyshop, not a repair shop. I think Briggs Motorsports is putting out the best work these days. I had my car done there and it was as good as new.

I have always recommended that people at least get an estimate from Channel City Auto Body. I have known this owner and the previous one and they are honest and professional.

I have had some incredible work by Dino's over the years, especially on my old Studebaker and reccomend highly - he will do a good job on stuff some shops won't touch and at a friendly price.

Last week we got rear ended and the other gal's insurance induced us to use Precision with promises of fast and easy paperwork direct to the shop. While my personal loyalties are still with Dino and his crew, Precision did excellent work and as promised, it was fast and hassle-free with us having to do no peperwork at all. They also fixed rather than replaced all of the parts (and let me inspect them off the car before and after repair), saving us two extra days in the shop

There's a small family owned shop in Goleta called John Briggs Motorsports. I've dealt with them several times. Very honest and straight forward and the quality of their work is amazing.

Built rite did a half-assed job on my car. I was rear ended and they fixed the trunk lid but didn't fix the lip of my trunk on the inside, only fixed what you could see on the outside. Open the trunk and right there is the evidence that I'd be rear ended. I won't go back there.

McLean's Auto Body in Goleta is the best. We've been there twice for body work, and both times the work has been flawless. Also love their staff.

Built-Rite on Nopal. Kirk has done all the body work on my cars and my mom's over the last 15 years, from being rear-ended to parking lot dings on the doors. He is awesome! Honest, up front, professional, and fast. Let him know whether you want it repaired to "like brand new" condition, or if you just want a cosmetic "fix". He has saved me hundreds of dollars over what the insurance company referrals were charging for the same work, and it has been perfect every time. To 094: I am sure that he would have fixed the interior rim if you had taken the car back and shown him. Also, any (reported) accident is on your car's record anyway, but most mechanics and auto body guys can tell if your car has had body work done whether you can see it or not. I always have a car inspected professionally before I buy it for just that reason. Just sayin'...
