Whats going on above Santa Barbara right now??? Two planes, one large one small following each other & circling... Anyone know ??

We were wondering about that too! Apparently they were going back and forth for about an hour. The last I saw them they were making a hard right to the north. If I can find my camera cable I'll send a picture.

probably government official like Obama or Romney. Only government officials in high ranks get a fighter jet escort. I saw the same thing when I was by cottage hospital.

I saw it and looked them up on my flight app - they flew from Edwards AFB and one of them was a mcdonnell douglas fa-18 hornet. Call # NASA843... I am assuming this one was the escort??

Ah, so presumably it was a NASA experiment of some kind. The track is still up online.

Aerial refueling practice. I saw a DC 10 Refueling a KC-135 today in Northern Calif.

Thanks Max. Didn't know they did refueling practice with NASA planes, nor that they flew ovals for an hour to do it. Sure is an interesting thing, and I'd still like to know more about it.
