Stove Sale

Does anyone know a place in town to give away a perfectly good gas oven/stove? Maybe an appliance store that refurbishes? Hate to dump it.

The local Freecycle. I'm sure you will get some interest. Freecycle.org.

Another vote that you donate it to Habitat for Humanity's Restore at 6725 Hollister Avenue Suite 110, Goleta (805) 692-2226 But call first - they're staffed by volunteers and hours vary. They have really cool stuff.

3rd vote for Habitat For Humanity - ReStore. Also call United Families on Hollister. Curbside works well too if you can move it.
to 986, MYOB - mind your own beeswax.

if it's perfectly good, then why are you replacing it?!

A1 hauls away and resells most working appliances...might even toss you a buck or two.

Craigslist. Or put it on the curb on Saturday or Sunday morning with a "free" sign on it. The garage sale pros will grab it before you have your first cup of coffee.

I donated working appliances to Catholic Charities before. (I'm not Catholic, but they're a great charity.) Don't know if they still take and resell them, but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

I second Craig's list. Several years ago we were moving and had a huge home gym that we didn't want to take with us. This thing had hundreds of screws and bolts, all different sizes, and would be a huge pain to dismantle, let alone pack up and truck to Goodwill et al.

We posted a picture of the gym on Craig's list at 6:00 am on a Sunday morning and said it was free if you came and picked it up. I was utterly shocked when at 9:30 am the gym was dismantled and gone.

There are professionals that scour Craig's list for such bargains and snatch them up for resale.

Appliance Warehouse Of America. (805) 967-9607. 274 S. Fairview Ave, Goleta, CA (just off Hollister on the road to the airport). We got a used washer & dryer there once some years ago - they worked perfectly and helped us out.

I'm sure they must work on some low margin and would be happy to get a free one they can then pass on to others.

Craigslist. When I put free items on there, I usually have an email in 5-10 minutes from someone who wants it. Best place to get rid of things.
