Voters Beware!

Taking into account that the Santa Ynez High School officials will be asking taxpayers to support a
$16.8 million bond measure in November, at tomorrow's school board meeting, the SYH school board will vote to approve Superintendent Paul Turnbull's contract with a base compensation of $198,320 plus benefits and vacation pay. SYH has approximately 1000 students, one high school and a 25
student continuation school. Santa Barbara USD has over 15,0000 students. Voters beware! This
school continues to deficit spend in hopes that the bond passes. The funds from the bond will provide
"general fund relief" to maintain high administrative costs. Last month, the board approved an
Academic Dean position with a salary of $95,000. SYH already has a principal and vice principal. This
compensation is outrageous and will not benefit students in the least.
