Sierra Club Hike Leader 70th Birthday

Al Sladek has been leading the Sierra Club Friday evening hikes in Santa Barbara
since 1974! Almost every Friday for 38 years non-stop!
Al just celebrated his 70th birthday and we had a little party for him on the
trail and at the potluck/slide show on Friday July 13!
Here are my photos!
Al may be 70 years old but he still looks and acts like a kid!
I asked him if he has any words of wisdom for the occasion.
His answer: "Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional."
The hikes meet in front of the Mission at 6PM every Friday all year round and
then carpool to the trail head. After the hikes is a pizza party or a potluck
and slide show. Everyone is welcome!
