Welder
updated: Jul 16, 2012, 2:46 PM

This is not a news flash, I was wondering if anyone could refer me to a local welder in the area who could weld a hitch to my truck. It's a toyota FJ Cruiser and I have an aftermarket bumper so it needs to be a custom job. Any one know of a good local welder in SB / Goleta who does that type of work ?

I've used Patrick (636-2716) for a small welding job. Nice guy, nice price. I found him on Craigslist.

Buddy of mine does this sort of thing, even had him do a small job on my Jeep's axle. Name's Ian at (805) 896-0201.

John Tilford, really good guy, has done many small jobs for us and is very reasonable and honest. 966-2444.

If you have the right hitch, it should bolt on and not need welding. But maybe your hitch wasn't intended for your vehicle so it needs custom adaptation. Be careful. Bad welds can break.

2nd vote for Rob's 4X4 - Rob is an excellent mechanic and very fair price wise - really nice and straightforward too.

TILFORD is the Man. He has repaired and moved and re-welded several trailer hitches and tire harnesses for me, always with precision and at a reasonable price.
