Hey, the Bird Refuge doesn't smell anymore!! Anyone know what they
did to stop it, or did it just stop smelling naturally?

Same thing happens every few years .it stinks for a few weeks. Everybody gets all worked up. Then it just goes away on it's own.

Some weekends through the Summer the stank rises on the lower East Side I don't know if that's the turd refuge or not. Belinda likes to say it's the tourists eating all that good Santa Barbara food pluging up the pipes..

The smell is typically caused by the decomposition following the die off from an algal bloom.

They had little boats out there churning up the water because we were all complaining about it. It aerated the water and allowed it to heal itself. Ahhh so much better!

Notice how nobody really cares once the smell is gone. The problem is still there, but of course we got the satisfaction we wanted. God bless America.
