updated: Jun 28, 2012, 8:16 AM
Are there any SB (Milpas or Old Town maybe) stores that sell serapes / Mexican
blankets?

Jedlika's is a major advertiser on the News-Press, so I will never step foot in that store. Nor would I ever wear a horse blanket.

I would visit the earl warren show grounds parking lot when they have the flea market - not sure what day it is, but it's weekly. If it's something south of the boarder you need, you will find it there.

Cominichi's - 410 E. Haley (between Laguna and Olive) 805-962-1413. I was there yesterday, they have blankets, serapes', festive ethnic clothing, fiesta sombrero's, gents mariachi suits, even ladies mariachi suits. They're all sprinkled through out the store, but anyone behind the counter can point you to what you're looking for. It's a great place.

Maybe when the last known NewsPress boycotter passes on, they will stuff him/her and put them on display like the horse in front of Jedlika's. Great store folks, don't let other sense vengeful retribution put you off. And goodness sakes, someone must be reading the N-P afterall to know who is advertising in it these days. Oh, that's right you just happen to see it everyday spread out page by page when you are passing through the library or rummaging through other people's garbage cans looking at their wrapped fish or dumped bird cage droppings. Gheesh.

I think their politics stink but Jedlicka's is a great local family owned and operated business. They advertise lots of places. They keep their $$$ in the county. The Store and the family have been valuable contributors of their time and dollars to a part of Santa Barbara that most newcomers see as a problem - horse ownership, outdoor activity and open land preservation. And before you get on your high horse about rich, idle horse owners - At 55+ yrs, I work 60+ hours a week, forego cable TV, first run movies and recreational shopping to keep my horse in very modest circumstances as do many, many other folks in town. If you really think Wendy needs advertising and subscriber"s $$$ to stay in biz you been fooled again.....

Jedlicka's has all colors of serapes - just got them in and all different sizes. Please support local family business - it has been in town since 1932. All the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. Sad to see comments just because they advertise sometimes in the NP.
