Scanner Reports 6-27-12
updated: Jun 27, 2012, 7:05 AM

By Roger the Scanner Guy

Will hair we are, another Humpster Day, Wednesday. What do you do when you're driving down the road minding your own business obeying the traffic laws, doing the speed limit say you're doing 35? Some jerk pulls in front of you not only cutting you off but only doing say 25. If you don't slam into the jerk, you stomp on the brakes right? At this point do you just let it go? Do you flip the driver the bird and cuss em out? Or do you try and get them to pull over so you can kick their butt? I haven't driven in some time, can't afford it. Thinking about expenses used to really stress me out when I was driving around. I've always been kinda short tempered anyway and I always drove big cars mostly because I am a big guy and they were comfortable.

I remember getting so mad at someone while driving (I can't even remember what they did) I let them get way ahead of me to a stop light. I sped up to say 60 maybe 70 mph then not so far behind them I slammed on my brakes. My Cadillac Coupe stopped inches from hitting their little Honda. I got a look at them at that point they were an elderly couple, compared to this big ugly ape in a tank. The poor old guy looked like he was scared to death. This was here in town many years ago I was so hot headed and angry I yelled at the poor guy and flipped him off. Looking at him while acting like a total idiot, I felt horrible but I was so angry I kept telling him off I was almost out of control. That's Road Rage. I've heard a few of these lately and I know there's a lot in Santa Barbara I see it almost every day when I'm out and about.

It's starting to get HOT out there people have short fuses. I also hear Domestic 415s, 242s Assault other violent crimes associated with anger but Road Rage can involve anyone who ventures out beyond their front door. Many of those other crimes usually involve some sort of interaction, usually, there are exceptions. Road Rage can come from just about anywhere you don't even have to do anything wrong. There is a place on the net where one can go and read suggestions of other things one can do while experiencing Road Rage before one gets out of control and commits one of those other violent crimes. Google this: Wiki How to stay calm during Road Rage. It's a good read and will help one to calm down during Road Rage. Now do I practice these suggestions while driving? "No, I stopped driving." I ride a bike and even though I follow all traffic laws even pull out of vehicles way someone always messes with me and it angers me. Sometimes I yell stupid things but people only laugh at me because I look like a fool. The way I look stereotype wise I should be riding a Harley, not a blue Schwinn tricycle. How can anyone take me serious? It's all good at least I make people laugh. Feel free to share about your Road Rage experiences if you like.
