Goleta DUI Checkpoint

Goleta Police conducted a sobriety and driver's license checkpoint on Friday June 22nd, as part of Goleta's commitment to public safety. The checkpoint was held between 7:00pm and 3:00am at Hollister Ave and Storke Road in the City of Goleta. This operation was one of many that have or will be conducted throughout the year in the City of Goleta. Here are the results of the checkpoint:

Vehicles Screened:302 DUI Arrests: 2 Driving without a Valid Driver's License: 3 Vehicles Impounded for 1 day: 2 Miscellaneous citations: 1 Driver's Evaluated for DUI (Alcohol / Drugs) : 4 (Drivers under the influence of alcohol, but not determined to be DUI)

Ronald Eugene Garcia (03-20-54) of Santa Barbara was arrested for DUI.

Andrew John Hoffman (09-17-62) of San Diego was arrested for DUI.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The City of Goleta contracts with the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office for police services.
