It is due to people being on the road . You are also causing more traffic. Please stay off the freeway unless you must.

Yes it is due to the CalTrans work. They've narrowed it down to one lane at Padaro.

I have had to drive to Ventura this week mid-day and the traffic has been awful. It has taken me an extra 35 minutes. On the way home yesterday afternoon, I saw that south-bound traffic was stop and go all the way from Padaro up to Carrillo at 3:30pm. In my neighborhood, Caltrans fixed the freeway at night. Is this work during the day because of the location (Padaro Lane), or because it is cheaper to pay workers for the day shift?

Don't forget it's now Summer, so without delay there always seems to be more traffic on the roads. It will get easier once Labor Day rolls around.
