Possible Accident on Hwy 1
updated: Jun 19, 2012, 8:02 PM

By Edhat Subscriber

What was the accident today around 4:30 on Hwy 1 close to Lompoc? Numerous cop cars and I passed a fire truck heading that way. One car on side of road and a guy on cell phone and cops standing on the other side of the road. There was some debris in the road - maybe clothes and a backpack.

Sounds like Roger needs an assistant, or 2. to cover the more crime prone areas of the county.

I usually just cover the city and Goleta..I don't mind covering other areas but when I have 2 or more things happening here at the same time I drop the balls..

I drove State Route 1 today and saw the tell tale signs of what appeared to be the aftermath of a rather dramatic vehicle wreck. I was going West when I came upon a skid patch that, I would say, was about 150 feet long. It trans-versed over into the East bound lane and over the shoulder, of which there was a big crater and/or hole into the ravine surrounded by charred brush. It looked rather knarly. I was expecting to see baby Superman rise out of it. I drive that Route 3-4 times a week on business, and I knew it wasn't there Tuesday. Hope everybody is all right, didn't see it on the news anywhere.
