Why not any thrift store? Or to a church. There are always ladies knitting and crocheting for church sales.

Santa Barbara Charter School (K-8 public school)
The students learn to weave and knit starting in kindergarten. Donated yarn works well except for advanced knitting projects as the variety in color, weight and texture make the projects more interesting. (plus of course it helps the budget!!) If no one is there this summer (967-6522 and located at the back of GVJH) I can save it for them (I'm the fiber arts teacher).
Can you send an email through edhat???

I would start by contacting local churches like Holy Cross on the mesa that have volunteer seniors who crochet for soldiers and the sick in hospitals. I would also call Cottage Hospital and ask if they have volunteers that crochet for the sick or newborn babies. Also, you could contact the Cancer Center about possible organizations that knit caps for cancer patients following chemotherapy. Thank you for your generosity to the community.

If it's baby yarn, the pink ladies from the local hospitals use it to make hats for the babies.
