Where's the best place for men to get manicures and/or pedicures? I'm looking for my fiance and our male attendants for our wedding. Thanks!

Kim's nails in goleta between the Vons and CVS at turnpike is a male friendly, sanitary, and friendly place to do. The women can go there too...

I'm female. I had my nails done before my wedding (20 years ago) at a nail salon ONCE. I will never waste my money like that again. Do your own nails. You'll get a better job, quicker, for a LOT less money.

Manicures and Pedicures....Go to a place where the technicians know the English words "ouch" and "too hot". I have literally had the skin on my feet scalded by well-meaning "nail artists" who are new and need to improve thier English.

Suggest you treat them to one of two places near K-Mart in Goleta. Lotus Flower Foot Massage (they help long time) and the place two doors down between the liquor store and Mexican restaurant Ankle Pain Clinic (they help long time). The guys will love it and their feet and hand will "Feel Great!" (like Tony the Tiger would say).

When people say there are no jobs in this town, just look at the success rates of manicure shops all over this town -- mainly Vietnamese immigrants who get their state cosmetology license, are willing work with their hands, have a great hard work ethic, and be customer-service oriented. These small business entrepreneurs create jobs and don't expect them to be given to them. And find a way to live in Santa Barbara. Let them be a lesson to all who come here and complain they can't afford Santa Barbara.

Go to Modern nails. They will trim them, neaten up the cuticles and buff the nail. There are men that enjoy having their nails done, it doesn't mean that they will get polished!

I suggest Harry's Plaza Cafe. They don't do nails there. But I'm sure they can invent a drink for the lads called The Man-I-Cure.

I had a mani/pedi at Aqua Nailbar before my wedding and was not traumatized. I am a hetero-male. (can't believe I have to hyphenate that now ;) Aqua is a nice, clean shop on mid-State Street, great service. Highly recommend!

I often see men receiving pedis at Today's Nails...usually businessmen who seem to spend most of their time on their cell phones.

I agree with the OP.. give me a break. Very uncalled for and judgemental comments. I also agree that modern nails does a fine job. Call ahead and make a reservation. I like Helen a lot. and 064.. I think you mean Man-scaping.

OP - Are you marrying a REAL man? Because a REAL man would NEVER be caught dead in a nail salon getting a mani/pedi.

The nail place near Zodo's is my place of choice - they are great in there - very clean and efficient. I've seen quite a few men in there getting manicures - good luck in your search. It's a great idea :)

I go to Santa Barbara Nails. Last time, a man was getting a manicure and pedicure in the chair next to me. I actually think, outside of appearance, it's a healthy thing to do.

look up indulgence the home spa on the web/ caroline's wonderful crew can come to whatever location the guys want to hang out at, probably not harry's though, and have their treatments in private while indulging in libations or whatever at the same time. manicures and pedicures are a relaxing treat for males and females alike.

OP- maybe there's more than one reason I'm still single, but still alive. The callouses on my fingers and hands are actually vital in preventing wood and metal splinters and assorted gross bacteria from getting in past the first few layers of skin. They also create a better insulator against electricity which even relatively low voltages can kill you. Soft skin is a poor insulator. Until I retire (if I ever do) I will not get a manicure or pedicure and I will use hand lotion only when necessary to help heal the splits in my fingers. If your other-half-to-be works in the trades all day, please don't force this upon him.
