Queen of Missions

I went with a new photographer friend, whom I met through Edhat, to the Santa
Barbara Mission. Our ultimate destination was the Butterfly exhibit at the
Natural History Museum, but we decided to start at the Queen of Missions while
waiting for the N. H. Museum to open at 10:00. The SB Mission opens at nine a.m.
for tours, we got there early and had the place practically all to ourselves for
the next 2 hours. I had to confess to having not been to our local treasure for
quite a long time, mostly visiting for funerals and weddings it seems, and never
actually, as a tourist/photographer. I was amazed at the beauty there, and had
fun capturing it's details, colors and light. If you haven't been in awhile, it
may be time to go and wander the grounds and appreciate what an amazing treasure
we have in our community. I got some great butterfly shots too, and I'll post
those soon.
