I Madonnari – Morning light

5:53 a.m. Sunday 5/27/12: Thought I'd catch the I Madonnari work in progress pre-dawn before the crowds arrived. Maybe catch some morning light on the incredible art and artists.
Chalk artist Lisa Lohmeyer is the only sole at the mission when I arrive. "I love the quiet mornings" when asked how and why she's already hard at work on her piece.
As the sun creeps up, artists, tourists, vendors and buses begin to arrive. The magic and energy of I Madonnari begins another day.
Catch it if you can, it's amazing what the artists are able to capture with just chalk and asphalt.
