We used California Solar Electric. They were fast, courteous, and they didn't mess up our brand new roof. I would highly recommend them. 805-640-7903

I second Solforce. Locally owned by Abe Powell, a SBHS grad. Abe was very responsive, the installation was done efficiently and well, and we were left satisfied customers.

Another vote for Sun Pacific Solar. We got royally screwed by another company for our water system, and rescued by Mac Solar (they do water systems). They recommended this company for electric, and we were thrilled by their enthusiasm and professionalism. Really happy.

California solar electric. Two systems for us on tow different properties. Very satisfied after 3 years. One system powers our electric car so don't have to buy gas or electricity.

My system was installed by REC Solar. I recommend them - invite them to talk to you about your plans and see what you think.

Stay away from REC solar. We used them and they did a shoddy job. Very disappointed.:(

Abe at Solforce is more knowledgeable, patient and helpful than any of the 5 or 6 we interviewed. His people were expert, polite and neat. We were up and running before others who started their installation two weeks before us and had problems. Ask him about leasing. It's a much cheaper way to get in and you can buy out the lease in 6 years if you want.

You may consider contacting the Community Environmental Council. They may be doing the Solarize Santa Barbara program again which was very successful last summer. Www.cecsb.org and ask for Ms. Birney.

CEC is not impartial in terms of solar recommendations. They get a kickback from two specific solar companies.

The Solar Energy Company based in Carpinteria, Christopher Farley, President, installed our solar panels. We've generated more electricity than we use. We highly recommend them. They were very helpful in getting us through the process with SCE, dealing with our condo association board, and procuring a city permit. The inverter had a problem but it was replaced free of charge. There have been no problems since then. They are friendly and willing to be of service. Whatever company you choose you are doing a good thing for the world and generations to come. We love our solar. It even powers our Chevy Volt.

Sun Pacific Solar, is owned by locals Jay is a "Don" class of 1970, he also attended UCSB and has been an electrician for 35 years. His wife went to San Marcos, "Royals" class of 84.
The CEC selected Sun Pacific Solar for being one of the two best companies in town. We used their service because their extensive knowledge of all solar PV including off grid systems and battery back up. One significant fact about them is that they have never had a correction notice from any inspectors. They were professional, the install crew seem to really enjoy their work.

their phone number is 805-965-9292. They are off Milpas. They have solar on their building. Their office is quite beautiful.

The Solar Energy Company has had its license revoked due to failure to comply with a civil judgement. Steer clear of these guys, they are absolute hacks. Chris Farley is a borderline criminal.
